Notice Topic: Sail Numbering
The Organising Authority have received some entries for the event declaring a single digit sail number to be used by the competitor at the event. This notice serves to clarify the situation regarding the use of single digit sail numbers.
The DF95 Class Rules currently in force cover this topic under clause H.9, as follows:
Two or three digits can be used but must be consistent on all rigs and the same on both Main and Jib. When using two digits, there shall be space in front of a sail number for a numeric prefix.
It goes on further to say;
Sail numbering applied to sails before 1 June 2023 shall be grandfathered
Competitors are reminded that all sail numbers must be either 2 or 3 digits, unless the numbers were applied to the sail before 1 June 2023 when single digit sail numbers were permitted.
Competitors are also reminded that the same sail number shall be used on all rigs and on both the mainsail and jib of those rigs. A combination of single digit and 2 or 3 digit sails numbers is not permitted.
